Encrypted backups for a personal Hermes Agent installation
Hermes Backup is a private, non-commercial configuration of Restic and rclone used by its operator to store encrypted backups in a Google Drive account they authorize.
How it works
- Restic encrypts local backup data before it is uploaded.
- rclone connects to Google Drive through the Google Drive API and transfers the encrypted backup objects.
- Google Drive authorization uses the
drive.filescope, limiting access to files created or opened with this application. - The tool is intended for its operator's account only. It is not a public backup service and provides no public user registration.
No backup data is hosted on this website. These pages explain the OAuth application and its handling of Google user data.
Information for Google account users
The operator authorizes access to a Google Drive account for the purpose of creating, listing, maintaining, and restoring encrypted backup objects. See the Privacy Policy for data use, retention, and revocation details.
